\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Porto Alegre, October 6, 2020 \u2013 The planting of the new Brazilian soybean crop started. Low moisture registered since the beginning of September in the Midwest and Southeast regions and part of the South region has prevented a good early advance of the work in the main growing states of the country. In Paran\u00e1, even with the end of the sanitary vacuum on September 10, few crops were planted, with growers waiting for the forecast of more regular rainfall to proceed with the sowing. The same occurs with midwestern and southeastern states, where the sanitary vacuum was also been finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a survey conducted by SAFRAS\n& Mercado, until October 2, Brazilian growers sowed 1.5% of the total area\nexpected for the country, which is equivalent to approximately 552 thousand hectares\nsown, out of 37,940 million hectares estimated for the country. In the previous\nweek, there was no data. In the same period of the previous year, the index reached\n4.4%, while the 5-year average for the period is 4.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Paran\u00e1, 6% of the soybean area was\nsown. The percentage is equivalent to nearly 336 thousand hectares planted, out\nof a total of 5.6 million hectares estimated for the state. In the previous\nweek, there was no data. In the same period last year, the percentage reached\n14%, while the 5-year average is 14.8% for the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Mato Grosso, out of a total expected\narea of 10.21 million hectares, 2% have already been sown, equivalent to\napproximately 204 thousand hectares. In the previous week, there was no data.\nIn the same period last year, the percentage was 7%. The 5-year average for the\nperiod is 5.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Mato Grosso do Sul, out of a total area\nestimated at 3.08 million hectares, 0.2% has already been sown, equivalent to nearly\n6 thousand hectares. In the previous week, there was no data. In the same\nperiod last year, the harvest was 3% complete, while the 5-year average for the\nperiod is 4.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Goi\u00e1s, out of a total expected area of \u200b\u200b3.745 million\nhectares, 0.1% was sown, or roughly 4 thousand hectares. In the previous week,\nthere was no data, while in the same period last year the percentage was 1.5%.\nThe 5-year average for the period is 0.7%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Minas Gerais, out of a total area estimated\nat 1.745 million hectares, 0.1% was sown, or nearly 2 thousand hectares. In the\nprevious week, there was no data. In the same period last year, the percentage\nwas 0.5%, while the 5-year average for the period is 0.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weather forecasts point to the maintenance\nof little moisture over the Midwest, Southeast, and part of the South of Brazil\nin the period between October 2 and 8. The lack of moisture must continue to\ndiscourage growers from moving forward with work in the states of the central\nstrip of the country, keeping the sowing pace delayed. In the period between\nOctober 9 and 15, some moisture is expected in small volumes in the Midwest and\nSoutheast regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
